One of my relatives were just like that, they couldn’t afford this or that, often bigger than a bakery item. They were already retired but still wore that I’ll fitting garment because wasn’t ready to be binned. They were more than able to buy anything they wanted. They looked like poor country cousins.
I do this all the time. I see something that I think I want and then I talk myself out of it because I really shouldn’t spend the money.
