A Bull Terrier from the looks of it. They are made out to be more dangerous than they really are. It all depends on how you bring them up. I had one many years ago, and had no problems at all with him.

      Rummuser,
Here we call them pit bulls. They have a bad reputation because some of them have been trained for dog fights…they’re strong and persistent and want to please their humans. Those same qualities mean they also can make great family pets. We’ve had quite a few come through the shelter on their way to good homes.

  2. Cathy in NZ says:

they are also pit bulls here…and there have been some rather nasty incidents with them. I think there has been a ‘call’ to have them banned but I don’t know the current issues on the matter.
.-= Cathy in NZ´s last blog ..I’ve regained that nice brain again =-.

    • Jean says:

      Cathy,
Yes, they’re extremely strong so the aggressive ones can do a lot of damage. In fact other breeds have a higher record of biting, but if you get bitten by a Chihuahua it’s not as serious. Unfortunately all pit bulls get labeled.

  3. bikehikebabe says:

Too bad about pit bull dogs getting a bad rap, due to the few that are trained to be bad by bad people.

I hadn’t realized that the photo was a pit bull. Makes it even funnier, especially with the sign.
