Working Right Along

We’ve now passed our initial electrical inspection and still have to have the initial plumbing inspection and the framing inspection before they can start putting on the metal roofing and the siding.

In the meantime they’ve started working on the opening for the attic stairs and building the mechanical equipment room for the water heaters, fans, air-to-air heat exchanger, etc.

As usual I would love to hear about your week.

Thanks to Evan, Cathy, Dixie and Rummuser for commenting on last week’s post.

A few domestic hassles – getting my parents’ washing machine looked at and such.

Weather in Sydney has been nice to us this week.

  2. Mike says:

Long, hard week at work, but fulfilling… student operators are “getting it.”

Heat wave broke, back to near normal temperatures, 2 inches of rain, but not enough to bust our drought.

weather fine and quite nice except if you got in the shade or a natural windy tunnel.

Landlord came yet again and this time really did a lot of weeding but inadvertently I noted when I went to get some chives, they have been cut down dramatically. Not sure why they did that because the pot was a long way from their adventure!

I spent a lot of time with official and unofficial bits of paper this week, mailing them to different places…it is now a waiting game – both for me and YOU!

After that I then did a lot of silk sliver dyeing and have some magnificent colourways to take to the ‘shop’ tomorrow where hopefully they will rush out the door!! Tomorrow also the 10th anniversary of this particular group…so they are having a special luncheon and I’ve been invited 🙂

August will be a year since I inherited my parents’ home. Last week was a rush of painting, cleaning, room makeover stuff. Of course some gardening until I attracted poison ivy. Now it’s back to the acrylics for a while.
Went through old family photos for my sister-in-law to use at a surprise birthday party for my brother. I laughed until I cried!
Inspections, oh yes, I know about those! hope yours go well. Have a great weekend 🙂

    Evan,
Glad you had some good weather at least.

    Mike,
Glad your class is going well and that the heat wave broke. We’re getting a little rain here too. So far we’ve had a bit of flooding down here, but the culverts and roads up in the mountains are still in good shape.

    Cathy,
That’s great about your crafts and the luncheon invitation. I’m looking forward to hearing more about how your future develops.

    Dixie,
I have a lot of cleaning, organizing to do down here. I admire your energy! Again sorry about the poison ivy. Why acrylics rather than some other art medium? I’m gradually learning to using Corel Painter, which gives me the option of acrylics, water colors, crayons, pencils, pastels, chalk, oil, etc. Of course I have no art background so I’m sure a lot of it is wasted on me!

Maid servant problem, absentee nurse problem, visitors, phone calls, and the return from holiday of Ranjan with a great deal of news to share. Quite an eventful week!

  7. Cathy in NZ says:

Rummuser: no wonder you need TLC – especially if Ranjan was also away 🙂

Jean: info about TLC and my imminent future is up on my wordpress blog!

    Rummuser,
Your life may not always be pleasant right now, but it certiany isn’t boring. Good luck!

    Cathy,
Thanks for the heads up. I enjoyed reading your blog and am happy for you. Please keep us posted. I’ll be curious to see what your assignment/projects are. Again, thank you so much for sharing!
