The electricity and plumbing have passed their final inspections! The bathroom is finished except for the mirror over the basin, and the kitchen is almost done–the countertops have been installed and we now have running water. It still needs the trim at the bottom of the cabinets, and the refrigerator needs to be installed.
A few other minor things need to be done but we expect to have the final inspection by the end of next week. That means hopefully we will have the Certificate of Occupancy a week or so later. We are already wrestling with the next step–replacing a lot of the contents (mostly Andy’s tools accumulated over 36 years) that burned up in the fire. That means a lot of paperwork with the insurance company. It’s a big job, but we couldn’t do much about it before we had some space to put things. 🙂

My main project that goes on & on is maintaining my body strength & health.
I agree with bhb…on the house details and the body health issues but also I have another “on & on” which is about making decisions about what stays, what gets binned, what I can sell/give away…
I am having another clear out of things – most of which were never new in the first place; or things left behind by flatmates, or things given which now are not needed…

The cabinets won’t look quite so sleek when Dan adds the handles and knobs. Presumably he will install those when the bottom trim comes.
I agree with you and Cathy about taking care of our health. It does take commitment, but it’s well worth it. 🙂

I too am reorganizing and uncluttering down here. Up there we’re going through the insurance list and deciding what we want to replace and what to just cross off the list. Mostly we’ll just replace a lot of Andy’s tools.
My ongoing project is writing stories for the young nieces and nephews. Christmas is a favorite time and they all want their own special story. As soon as I finish 2012 I’ll begin 2013. I love this.
Also my home is ongoing… enjoying it greatly.

It is getting to look great week by week.
During the recent vacation outings I have put on 6 Kgs of weight and that is my big project! To knock that plus a couple of more Kgs for bonus before Christmas so that I can splurge on Christmas goodies!
