On the other hand, nonvegetarian wolves really helped Yellowstone National Park:

  1. Yes, I’ve noted that for many wildlife areas – where reintroduction of “something” be it animal or other – the area rejuvenate…making the areas great again.

Apparently in Yellowstone the trick was keeping the deer (my sister-in-law calls them “forest rats”) out of sensitive areas, and culling the coyotes so other animals could flourish. It’s all very interesting.

all is necessary in the balance of nature. I just can’t always watch it happening.
    but they are beautiful.
it was one like that in the last year we spent in Northern Minnesota. it was 40 below zero for many days there that winter. the wolves were starving. we lived on the edge of a heavily wooded forest. one night my parents were having a Christmas party. I got to stay up by washing glasses and plates. the back door to the side where the trash cans were kept was off the kitchen. I had scraped food onto a plate and was going to put it in the lined can. when I opened the door there was one lone one standing like the second one from the right in your above video. he didn’t growl. he just stood there quietly looking at me. my father had come into the kitchen. he said very quietly and calmly…” Tam throw the plate of food into the yard and don’t turn around. just back up til you’re inside.” I obeyed him. it had been a grey wolf. a very hungry grey wolf. poor thing. I had no idea.
I had been talking to it calling it Doggy. and was about to offer it food in my hand. why my dad came into the kitchen at that very moment I’ll never know. fate? coincidence? a God moment? who knows?
I may have told you this story before. but it is one I’ll never forget!

I’ve seen this one before and shared it to several people.
I know I sent it to my niece Lily, who adores wolves.
It still boogies my mind what a difference they make.
I guess when they say – Don’t mess with Mother Nature
    It’s the truth!
    😉
