We Agree!

In the comments on yesterday’s post about wolves tammy said she understood it was all part of the balance of nature, but she didn’t want to watch it happening.

Koko and I agree, tammy!

While I hate any animal dying, I guess it’s better for them to have a full life up until the last minute than those poor creatures in factory farms.
I do recall years ago being at the dinner table at my sister’s and my BIL had a nature show on. I asked them to turn it off and he spouted that it was the circle of life. I said I realized that but that didn’t mean I wanted to watch a zebra being ripped apart during my dinner.

Cute cartoon. Creature demise not always the most fun to watch, I must agree. Does seem though — watching certain creatures — considered to be more more expendable than others — can be more palatable to some people.

Yes, it’s a fact that animals can be pretty vicious or even deadly to each other. But at least they aren’t threatening the whole world with nuclear bombs or environmental pollution. I’m glad to say that as a vegetarian I have as little to do with animal slaughter as possible.

We do what little we can. One of my favorite charities is The Population Connection. Something has to eventually stop our runaway population growth and it would be nice if we could do it gently.

I was conditioned by Walt Disney’s movie, “Bambi”—not my experience, but my childrens’. They were very young, and I thought it would be a perfect movie for them. But even a whiff of suggested danger to Bambi, set them off into tears. I think they are tougher now, but they remain great animal lovers!

  6. yep agree with Koko – and others that we don’t need to be bombarded by certain things that might make us gag or as Diane says “tears” when an animal is threatened. Life is a mixed blessing… one might say but I’m a vegetarian – but apparently even plants feel danger when they are ripped from the ground. We never seem to win on lifes’ issues…
