Square Peg Guy has awarded me the Kreativ Blogger Award. Thank you! The conditions of the award are that I have to tell six things that make me happy, and I have to pass the award on to six other bloggers. Finding at least six of each is easy.
Six Things That Make Me Happy
Just off the top of my head I’ll say
- Family and Friends
- Looking at photos of family and friends, especially photos of my daughter’s wedding last May.
I wrote about this over at Cheerful Monk: What’s Your Favorite Photo. It was a three-day family reunion as well as a wedding. -
Being a member of the local Friends of the Shelter and helping to find homes for the animals there. In particular, I make short weekly videos of the animals for our local public access TV station.
- Blogging. I’m a letter-writer at heart, and most of my off-line friends aren’t. So blogging has been a godsend to me. I like face-to-face and telephone interactions, too, but there’s something special about having the time to think about a topic before one communicates. Before blogging I wrote regularly in a journal, essentially writing letters to myself. It’s more fun sharing. π
- Flickr. I can spend hours looking for photos for my posts. And I’ve just started sharing some of my own photos there. I plan to add more…it seems only fair.
- Learning new things and finding a way to share them with others. For example, learning to make videos and DVDs, learning the mechanics of blogging, etc. I’m happiest when I have a reasonable amount of challenge in my life.
Nine Favorite Bloggers
I know, it was supposed to be six, but nine is a better number for me, and this is about creativity, right?

What About You?
What makes you happy? What are some of your favorite blogs?
Hi Jean,
Thanks for the award. I’ll try and pass it on this week.
Evans last blog post..Cancer Roundup
Thanks, Jean!
I’ll post about my favorite things in a day or to on my blog. Picking favorite bloggers will be harder for me — I’m an INTP — so favorite bloggers may or may not be part of the post.
I hadn’t looked at my Myers Briggs type in quite a while. After I saw your interest in it on your “about” page, I decided to look for another on-line evaluation to see if it showed me any different than I had been rated the last time that I did it. It didn’t — came up exactly the same. Imagine that.
Mike Goads last blog post..βThat Obama scares me.β
1. Friends & Family
2. Being outside doing whatever.
3. My computer
3. My house when it looks good. Not so often
4. All the jobs my husband does.
5. Jean’s Posts & others
6. TV-Desperate Housewives
P.S. I forget what my Myers Briggs type is. Thanks Mike. I’m going to review that.
Mike,
π Do what feels right for you. It is about creativity.
I love the MBTI. I took the official version twice. The first time I was an ENFP, being on borderline of E and I and F and T, but strongly an N and P. The second time I was an INFP, with the same borderlines and strong preferences. When I received the results of the first test my reaction was, “For the first time in my life I feel really understood.”
Being an introvert you might enjoy the last snapshot on tomorrow’s post at Cheerful Monk: If You Had Led the Life I Lead. It is accessible now but won’t appear on my home page until tomorrow morning. (Correction: bikehikebabe pointed out the link doesn’t work for her, so I included the snapshot below.)
bikehikebabe,
Thanks for joining in. I’ve decided to love my apartment even when it’s a shambles. I’m grateful that it’s so tolerant of me getting involved in other things. Thanks for pointing out the link to If You Had Led the Life I Lead doesn’t work in Safari. I don’t have any trouble in Firefox. Browsers are mysterious things. π Presumably there will be no problem when it gets to my home page tomorrow. I really appreciate your feedback.
Mike and bikehikebabe,
Here’s the picture (the good Lord willing and the creek don’t rise)
Jean,
Thank you!!
I am truly honored.
I will write a list here real soon and pass on the award!
Jean, thank you so much for this – I, too, am truly honored and humbled by this. You are a source of much knowledge in my thought process Jean, and your words continue to guide me in my life – as I journey through it all. So, thank you, also, for the wisdom you continuously share here – I’m a better person because of the time I’ve spent reading and pondering your words….
Jean,
Thanks! You’re such a giving person. I fell in love with your “Traits of Stress-Hardy, Resilient People” awhile back, and appreciate your nuggets of wisdom in your posts and comments.
I’m not much of a tagger, but here’s the list of 6:
Six things that make me happy:
1) My husband’s ability to understand the deep mysteries of life
2) My husband’s ability to play, dance, and laugh through life
3) My husband’s ability to love me for who and what I am
4) Our two cats’ loving and beautiful souls
5) “New stuff! New stuff!” What my husband and I call doing things differently to avoid stagnation.
6) Reading or seeing something that clicks the puzzle pieces into place in my mind and heart and then finding a way to share it with others
SpaceAgeSage — Loris last blog post..Can the disconnect be stopped or is it too late?
Maya,
π You’re welcome. I love the friendliness of it.
Lance,
Thank you for the kind words. You made my day!
Lori,
Thanks for sharing your list. It sounds like your husband is a gem…I’m happy for you. π
I’m like you and your husband, I like doing things differently once in a while to avoid stagnation. And like you I think of the bits and pieces in my mind as a gigantic jigsaw puzzle. It’s exciting when they sometimes fit together.
Jean, I am truly honored. Thank you.
Listing six favorite things is quite simple. Listing six favorite blogs is however difficult. Will it be alright to list those that you too have?
rummusers last blog post..A Poignant Story.
