We now have walls and the place looks and feels a lot different. They have now filled in the cracks and have masked the things that shouldn’t be painted. The current plan is to let the “mud” (for filling in the cracks) dry over the weekend so they can start painting and texturizing next week.
Down here I’ve spent long hours the past few days retrieving thousands of photos that had been sorted into neatly labeled folders. A few months ago I accidentally discovered that even though all the folders were there, most of them were empty. At first it looked as if somehow the photos had just been dumped into two new folders, but when I finally decided to tackle the problem I found that most of them had been erased. Fortunately I’ve been conscientious about backups so I could retrieve them. I’m still scratching my head that the folders didn’t disappear too. Just another of the mysteries of the universe.
What about you? Any signs of progress or mysteries of the universe?
there will be a mystery here next week, when I try and work out where all the ‘art-marks’ should be in relationship to putting them in a folder and sending them to the mentor…who is looking forward to them.
just now I have had to shift a number of things…so that in a moment I can look at the computer on the main desk and draw an outline from what I can see. hoping to get something else done, well the start of it before I send things!
yes, I have the w/end but tomorrow I’ll be gone most of the day for Weavers/Spinners meeting and then Sunday going to a film at the Art Gallery…so that means Monday will be busy. Can’t go very far anyway because another NZBus stopwork union meeting (large % of the city bus companies)…
the other mystery is why Materials Shop would delay in posting courier tickets – found out today they just posted them today!!!
A few years back a similar folder/photo thing happened to me. Seems the app (Nero) I used to view the photos was discontinued. My photos were gone. However the program for creating folders was a part of the computer’s software… and they remained. Very strange indeed.
This past week I was a mystery to myself. I spent two days with an organization that helps people. I found myself content listening to others’ problems. An outpouring of love toward them all, surprised me. It was a massive dose of mutual, unconditional love.
That guy on the stilts is fascinating. How did he manage to wear that and get up?
Plenty of progress. Out with the old has been accomplished bar one old typewriter which will go next week to an antique collector and one chair which will go to Ranjan’s girl friend. Some legal formalities will take some more time, but that is to be expected.
The new has started with me going out a lot and getting a lot of sleep and rest.
Nothing mysterious has happened as yet. Can’t rule it happening completely out though!
Cathy,
You certainly are busy doing all sorts of things! I enjoy reading your blog.
Dixie,
I still can’t figure out why some of the photos were dumped into two new folders and the others disappeared completely. I’ve retrieved all of them from my backups now and am starting to reorganize a lot of them so they will be easier to review. I’m putting keywords on them to help with searching. It’s extremely time consuming and I may not finish all thousands of them, but every little bit helps.
Yes, I know what you mean about outpourings of love. It’s a great feeling.
Rummuser,
Good for you! As usual we’re rooting for you.
