We’ve had a couple of warm spring days with some wind, but tomorrow it’s supposed to be about 20° cooler and a lot windier. That means, of course, that in the weather report much of the state was marked red for fire danger — the downside of our low humidity. They’ve also been warning drivers on some of the freeways of the low visibility because of dust.
We’re not complaining. It’s not too hot, we’re not having a snowstorm like they’re having in Denver (about 350 miles north of us) and we have yet to have a tornado here. After our big burn in 2011 we’re not even worried about forest fires. I’ll keep my fingers crossed for the rest of the state.

Our weather is a big improvement over last year at this time, which was too warm and dry and, though we didn’t know it yet, going into drought conditions. Unfortunately, with all the rain systems coming through, I keep having to cover our eave replacement part of renovation work with tarps. Doing the work myself takes longer, but it’s sweat equity….

Since then there has been no respite and I spend as much time as possible within my air-conditioned bedroom.
it was a temperature normal here for august yesterday.
this morning the temperature is like the beginning of winter with a freeze warning for tonight. ! ! !
at lease it keeps us on our toes.
and also with both seasons of clothes in our closets. LOL.

Loving the warmth – and a bit disturbed about global warming.
One of the prettiest Spring seasons I’ve seen. (Over 50 years worth!) We’re still having April showers with good soak time. Every couple of days the sun appears and I can see the grass grow. Rain or sun often finds me at the picnic table (under the market umbrella!) writing and sketching. I do children’s books and this weather is great to go for a boot splash adventure. Thanks for asking!

It got down to almost freezing here last night and down to about 25 degrees F. up on the land. When we had a garden we didn’t plant until after Memorial Day (end of May) because of the frost danger. I prefer the cold to the heat. Again, wow! for Rummuser.

where is Autumn (Fall)? Some of the morning/evening warmth is disappearing but on average the days are lovely, quite warm!
I went south last weekend, close to a mountain that does snow (no snow on it other than a faint bit at top) and I took warmer clothes. Threw in a summer top at last minute, wore it to death! Starting with layers…
Got back and felt cold – err why? Now back to feeling warm, maybe it was because I tired!
Apparently it is to be very cold this w/end…my jury out on it though!

That’s the problem with traveling in spring/fall. You can’t predict what kind of clothes you’ll need. As you say, best to be able to layer. I’m glad you had a chance to go, and I’m glad you’re back.
