Orlando had to wait to get the tire, but they were back to work by about noon yesterday. The road looks a lot better than it did last Friday — now we’ll just have to see if we get the new rain the weatherman is predicting. And if so if the new culvert system is up to handling it. Who says life in the sticks is boring?
We’ll let you know if anything changes.
That road is fit for a King.
Don’t hold your breath. But Andy just came home and said so far the culverts are doing their job. 🙂
DITTO bhb!
it is sand right? so it won’t turn into major mud? forgive a stupid question!
i thought i’ve been paying attention … but it looks so pretty and vulnerable to rain. LOL.
blow some of that blessed rain our way please.
dry as the proverbial bone here. as usual. 🙂
oh. and.
i like sticks.
and i like boring!
i’m never bored by the boring sticks. 😀
Yes, we love the rain and hope you get some too!
That’s a good question about the mud! Mostly we don’t have trouble with mud in the rainy season — when we get one. Once people start driving on the roads the dirt is fairly compact, so the water runs off rather than sinks in. The mud season is in the spring if we’ve had a lot of snow in the winter. The snow melts slowly and gradually sinks into the soil and turns it to mud for a while. Andy tries to drive carefully then so he doesn’t make too many ruts. Thanks for asking!
How can you be bored with designer road tops?
Well, we have a lot of rain happening here today…I don’t think it has stopped in the last couple of hours. It’s the tail end of a huge storm that started in the lower South Island a few days ago and been touring up the country. Of course, as soon as they say “it’s Spring” here, the weather swings back and forwards. And it often gets quite cold.
I’m not having so much cold indoors since, ceiling insulation has been put in – enjoying it all as well, saving money on power usage!
I have go out in the rain today, but only across the road – still enough, that I will wear my rain coat because I’ve gotta be at dentist at least an hour and don’t want to feel damp!
