The image of a child on the floor playing has always been a symbol of what I was aiming for — to be completely absorbed in the moment. So I was tickled when I saw Crayola “Floor Pads” (22″ X 16″) at the store tonight.
Yes, I bought one, and I like it so much I’m going to get more. Crayola understands us kiddies. Yay, Crayola!
When are you most nearly yourself?

When I am pontificating to my son and daughter in law.
😉
LOLOL. rummy.
i must check out those floor pads. coloring has always been a favorite of mine.
my gram used to send us each our own 64 count box once a year. through the mail.
talk about something so excitedly awaited!!!
can you imagine that these days… a little kid waiting for crayons in the mail? 🙂
there’s something so relaxing about coloring.
I still get excited when I get new colors in the mail, so I can imagine how you felt. If you’d like to try some colorful but inexpensive oil pastels let me know. I can send you some.
I posted a sign, “STAY COMPLETELY ABSORBED IN THE MOMENT.”
I said STAY & not BE –Because I’m walking without the walker now & I have to concentrate so I don’t fall over. It’ll be automatic if I do it enough.
Yay, bikehikebabe! Yes, no more falls!
Writing in my journal, engaging on something important with another, or thinking about the implications of something important.
Yes, especially journal writing when you’re interested in things that the people around you aren’t. It keeps that part of you alive.
When am I “most nearly” myself, Jean? I am never ‘nearly’ myself. I am myself. At all times.
U
That works too. 🙂
