Jean, I don’t know what the problem is – I just feel bl**dy awful. I can’t eat dried fruits/beans anymore either – a few I can get away with…Actually a lot of prepared foods cause me problems and sometimes I don’t know what caused whatever…
I just know that when I’m feeling rotten to back off and eat gently for a few days and I come right until the next time!
Cathy,
Unfortunately reactions like that need a lot of detective work. Vegemite does contain gluten, but presumably beans and dried fruit don’t. Here’s an article about vegemite allergies/sensitivities: http://www.livestrong.com/article/527702-vegemite-allergies/ Good luck!
I don’t have any comfort foods. I find the whole idea that bad news should send you rushing for food a bit strange. If I hear a lot of bad news, I just turn it off and do something I enjoy, like listening to music or reading a book.
i have too many comfort foods to count….
popcorn. pizza. ice cream. dorito chips. oh yes! any kind of chips really.
peanut butter. spaghetti. toast with orange marmalade.
a little salad with my ranch dressing. LOLOL.
if i’m sad or upset though . . . i just don’t eat anything. so… i guess the cartoon doesn’t apply to me actually.
i eat when i’m happy … which explains the waistline i guess. 😀
I have cravings for all kinds of things…I love ice cream, also potato crisps and things like burger ring or cheezels, grain waves are quite nice too… deep fried baddies can find their way onto my lips as well 🙂
Peanuts boiled in salt water.
That sounds good.
What triggers the need for them is usually hunger pangs.
Vegemite on toast. (No risk of people from other countries taking this up.)
Usually getting a cold.
I’m going to have to look that up.
I too like Vegemite, not Marmite – but I can’t eat it nowadays!
I looked up Vegemite — Amazon actually sells it, but I think I’ll pass because of the salt. Is that why you can’t have it now, Cathy?

A classic joke here is when women are having relationship problems they eat ice cream. When something bothers me I do something more active.

Your waistline is a good sign then. Just like Chinese Buddhas. 😀

You’re making me hungry!
