Measuring

We went up with Cheryl yesterday so she could measure the windows for the Hunter Douglas shades. (In the first picture Andy is holding the plant that goes on the sill of the window she is measuring.)

She expects to have a quote by Monday, and if it’s all right he’ll put down our deposit so they can start making them.

It was a strange day — low clouds here, which meant we drove through them to get to the land. In other words, a very foggy drive.

The outside temperature was about 28°F, but it was still a toasty warm 72.5° inside the house because of the warm floors.

The fog started to lift on the way back, and the hoar frost on the trees was gorgeous.

Beautiful. The air must have been crisp.

I love picture #1 – Andy looks like he is going to present the “bouquet” to the lovely lady when she is done 🙂

Also love the frost on the tree…and as Rummuser commented, looks “crisp” as.

I think she brought the plant. Nice we got to see it, but I don’t think it can fit on that little windowsill.
We had a whole woods behind our house with the frost covered trees. So beautiful! Took pictures.

Sorry, BHB, it’s Andy’s plant and it has lived on the widow sill. It clearly has been happy there. Unfortunately there won’t be room for it there when the shades are installed.

Don’t forget, the walls are heavily insulated — they’re ten inches thick and the window sill is over 6 inches deep.

      Cathy,
I agree about the one where Andy is holding the plant. It’s so cheerful.
