Yay, Razor!

Razor is a little dachshund who tried everything in his power to tell humans that his “sister” Jazzie, an 180-pound St. Bernard, was stuck in an icy, muddy ditch and couldn’t get out. His hu-dad just didn’t get it:

…he was really excited and was running around and kicking up dust and barking. I guess he was trying to alert me, but obviously I didn’t see that.

Razor then tried to get a neighbor to help, but the neighbor didn’t understand either. He told Razor to shut up and get inside. Instead Razor ran back to the ditch and kept barking for help. Finally a passing motorist heard him barking, saw poor Jazzie trapped in the ditch, and called 911. Belen police and fire fighters came to the rescue.

So now Jazzie is safe, Razor is a hero, and no doubt the hu-dad is feeling a bit foolish.

Yay, Razor!

And a good thing, too! A few years ago around here a fellow hurt himself on a hike and expected his dog to run home and get help. Unfortunately the dog was upset and kept licking the fellow and whimpering his sympathy. The dog hadn’t watched enough TV.

what a great and courageous little fellow is razor!!!!

they don’t look very well cared for to me. just sayin’.

    ah.
just realized that belen is in new mexico.
so might be hard to get grass to grow there. guess i should cut the owner some slack!
maybe dirty dogs are not necessarily ill-kept dogs after all! 🙂

I think Montana would agree with you that dirty dogs aren’t necessarily ill-kept. I think I remember Kaitlin saying something about the muddy spots on the walls from where Montana has bounced off them after she comes inside after playing in the puddles in their yard.
