Busy Bees

Andy says the bees are focusing on gathering food after the winter. They don’t pay any attention to him at all.

They’re after the pussy willow because there doesn’t seem to be any other source of food around. His fruit trees are still completely dormant and won’t have blossoms for at least another month or six weeks. Hopefully the bees will still be around.

The are hardy. They will be around and be back when the trees bloom.

We wonder how far they have to fly to find the pussy willow. Presumably they send out scouts to find some food and he reports back to the group?

    oh those blessed little beings.
    i love bees.
i used to sit under my crepe myrtle tree with them buzzing all around me.
never did i get bitten. they were simply going about their work. it was heaven.

I am not sure how ours will do this year, but the last few years our have been the same. Just buzzing with bees! I cannot wait until it gets a bit warmer here. At least the days are getting longer.

Hopefully it won’t be too long now. Father’s fruit trees are still dormant, but the grass and clover are starting to grow again. Father sowed more seed today just before it rained.
