No matter what the calendar says, yesterday was winter here.
Andy had a chance to see if the lights would crack with snow on them, but they were just fine. Here’s what they looked like before he turned them on.
Here’s when he just turned them on:
And here’s what they looked like after a couple of hours. The lights were barely warm to the touch in the mid-twenties weather (about -4 to -6 Celsius).
It looks promising. The new lights (a small green and yellow to replace the ones we have, plus another large red) came yesterday and Andy will install them when he gets time. He does have a few other things on his list!

Our winter is taking its time arriving. We are still seeing warm days though the early mornings are quite chilly.
There’s no rush. Autumn is my favorite season.
no surprises on weather – our Spring never plays by our assumed song book – a variable menu often all day “breakfast” through to a “smorgasbord” – however most of the time, it’s more humid than actually totally cold!
As the saying goes about spring, if you don’t like the weather just wait five minutes — it will change. 🙂
pretty snow! so glad andy’s lights are working well for him.
we’ve only had freezing rain the last few days. no snow. usual for here.
still… my electricity stayed on and i’m cozy.
don’t even have cabin fever. i love this time of year!
probably because i have the luxury of not having to go to work in it.
something i NEVER take for granted these days! 🙂
I’m with you. As long as we don’t have to commute to work in it!
More interesting shots! I like the dashes of color.
I love the closeups of the red ones with the frost.
