I Have a Cold!

Do you get colds very often? I seldom get one. Whenever I start seeing some symptoms I take it easy, drink plenty of fluids, and it usually goes away before it gets bad.

Not this time — I’ve spent most of the past three days sleeping. Beate warned me that a particular nasty bug is going around —she and Tim had it, so I shouldn’t be surprised. Presumably it won’t be as bad as the shingles I had last April, so I won’t complain. I really have been lucky so far.

I seldom get a simple cold anymore either.
I do seem to get bronchitis at the drop of a hat though.
last time I let it turn into pneumonia before doing anything about it.
    so…
not always good to let ANYTHING go I guess.
    be careful.
    XOXO

Amazingly enough I felt a lot better today, and I think the worst of it is over. (Hopefully.) I think this isn’t the same thing that Beate and Tim had. I did some coughing, but it was more of a head cold than in the lungs. I’m still surprised that it flattened me for a couple of days, and that I felt better so suddenly. Fluids and sleep, I guess?

Please be careful with your bronchitis!

I hope it’s not the monster going around. My major symptoms only lasted a few weeks but the minor ones linger forever! And I coughed so hard without being able to breathe that I got very worried and the word tracheotomy came to mind. That one is a virus and you can get antiviral medicine to help with it. It’s been two months now and I still cough sometimes but I am off all the meds except occasional cough drops now. My husband got a much milder form than I did so he’s been healthy awhile now even though I got it first. He saw the doctor sooner in the process than I did, too, so go see yours. Now! 🙂

What you’re describing is what Beate and Tim had. Beate said one of their friends, in great physical shape, also got it and was flat on his back in bed for a week and it took another week for him to recover. Really nasty stuff, I’m so sorry you caught it. 🙁

    Oh NO!
I’m SO glad I’m reading this NOW after you have commented that you are feeling better.
    Still, take it easy.
    Please.
    and take extra Vitamin C.
    and sleep, sleep is good.
Get well SOON! like right NOW!
    XOXOXOXOXOXOXO

Thank you! I really am a lot better, and I thought I would go to the Y tomorrow for the weight machines and my class, but I might wait a bit more. The flu is still going around so it’s probably best to avoid crowds for a while longer.

    I don’t necessarily get a lot of colds,but I often get what I classify as 2-day wonders!
People phone me up and say “oh don’t come out…” the next day they phone and they are shocked, I’m back on deck as if nothing was amiss. They probably think they dialled the wrong number!!!

I’m glad you recover so quickly. Usually mine don’t get bad at all, but this one is still hanging on. Makes me realize how lucky I am/have been.
