Goodbye, Sweet Girl

Montana

Montana2 enhanced

Kaitlin and Torben learned yesterday that Montana had been killed by a train. They wrapped her in her favorite blanket (she had liked to stay warm) and took her to the vets to be cremated. Our hearts are broken.

This is my favorite video of her. Kaitlin took it in 2011, shortly after they adopted her. They were supposed to keep her absolutely quiet because she was being treated for her heart worms. Good luck with that! But she survived just fine.

She was so good-natured and fun to be around. She will be sorely missed.

Goodbye, Sweet Girl.

I just left a comment on Montana’s blog
and now I’m here too, to share my deepest sympathies.
Your video has me crying again,
(I should have waited until I was home to watch!)
    Such a tragic senseless loss.
    Life is so damn unfair!
Take comfort in the joy and happiness she brought to this world.
She has taught us a lot but mostly for me, to remember we don’t know how long we have and not to put off anything but to just enjoy life!
    XOXOXOXOXOXOXOXOXOXOXOXOXOXOXO

I’m sorry for your loss. That’s way too often the result of having loved and accepted love. But, still worth it.
