Heartwarming Letter

Our apartment complex changed management a couple of years ago, and the change has been a plus. All of the apartments had a letter posted on their doors early this week. It started with:

Dear Residents,
It is with sadness in our hearts, that we announce the passing of George Mattys, one of our long time and very dear employees. George has worked with Plateau Property Management and CAP Investors for the last 10 years.

George was a wonderful individual who always offered a helping hand to anyone who needed it. George was a true gentleman in every sense of the word and was a compassionate friend to all who knew him. He was extremely skilled, and his skills have been realized by many of you over the years through his maintenance repairs, construction projects and general upkeep at all our properties. George’s customer service was above and beyond that of most. He was always kind, giving, helpful and respectful to all who crossed paths with him. As a co-worker and member of our team, George was always looked up to. He was a good listener, did not judge others, was gentle in demeanor, and always had a smile to offer.

We will surely miss his smile and amazing personality!

We know many of you knew, and were fond of, George and we wanted to be sure you are informed of their unfortunate situation. We would like to extend an invitation to George’s service to anyone who would like to attend.

Then it gave the place and time of the service.

We didn’t know George, but were touched by the letter — not only because he seemed like such a wonderful person, but because of what it says of the management. We’re lucky to be able to call this place our home.

how did I miss this post…how wonderful, and caring.

i’m sure there is always someone, who we take for granted, in these places – to fix and to listen…

This is a remarkable gesture for any employer to express sorrow for one of their departed employees. If only all employers everywhere were to be like this!
