Whatever Floats Your Boat!

As many of you know, DPLDT (different people like different things) was one of my favorite expressions. But the other day tammy introduced me to WFYB, whatever floats your boat. It still points out we’re all different, but it sounds more energetic/dynamic/enthusiastic to me, so I’ve been converted. Thanks, tammy!

What floats your boat? What stirs your enthusiasm and joy?

at least you made yours up! i’m not sure where mine came from. i even think i remember Bob saying it . so it’s been around. i had to say it because i had trouble when i saw DTFDP. i mean DPLDT! see what i mean? hahahaha. i was thinking different things for different people. lol!
the military is very big on the letters thing. half the time when they talk with each other i don’t know what they’re talking about! maybe that’s why they do it. it is anagrams? i can never remember that. i call it secret speak! LOL.
right now what floats my boat is the sound of children laughing outside and playing… as i write this. the sounds of my own childhood! we had so much fun just as the sun was setting! then we’d be called in. and the air is cool enough that i can have my windows open right now. my boat’s definitely floatin’! 🙂

I used to tell Kaitlin “different people like different things” a lot when she was little. It brings back wonderful memories. 🙂

  2. wfmb – depends on the circumstances…

this morning it was the choice to put the heating on in one room, and stay in there. Others might have got on their coats and taken a brisk walk.

I have one that’s similar but not the same as yours:-

ITAS – it takes all sorts!

My boat floats when the sun is shining- doesn’t matter which season we are in, if the sun is shining I’m a happy chappy (or should that be chappess??)

Another one I use a lot is “one size doesn’t fit all.” It’s similar to yours and DPLDT. We had some cool, overcast weather yesterday and I was thrilled. We get a lot of sunshine here, so this time of year cool and a bit moist is great too.

  4. I’m with Cathy! Sunshine virtually injects me with energy. The opposite isn’t pretty!

I imagine I wouldn’t be so thrilled with overcast and rain if I lived in the Northwest. In Ithaca the sun came out so seldom in the long winter we were like you about sunshine. A reason to celebrate! Unfortunately we had no spring there. Winter went almost straight to hot, humid summers. Yuck!

I have used “To each his own” whenever necessary.

Funny that you should use this phrase right now.
I haven’t heard it for quite awhile and then just yesterday when I was telling my stepmom about an odd occupation someone had chosen, that’s what she said!
    Lolol!
