They’re Thriving

Andy says there’s a good chance we will get some apples and cherries this year. He put nets over the cherries so the birds don’t get them first:

The pussy willow keeps growing in spite of a drastic trimming last year and this spring, so he gave it a hair cut to keep it down to a manageable size.

It’s a rough life for plants up there, so it’s always heartwarming to see things thrive.

  3. Pruning does help to strengthen plants. Sounds like Andy knows what he is doing!

      Pussy willows are impressive. It was burned to the ground in the 2011 fire and came back. It was quite large a couple of years ago but it’s less than 50 feet from the house so it’s best to keep it smaller because of the fire danger.
