The Mayo Clinic

I agree with everyone who said go to the Mayo Clinic and do it sooner rather than later. Mike’s comment, especially, about how long it takes to get an appointment, got me to start the process today. As he points out, we can always cancel.

Apparently the earliest appointment would be in about three months, so Andy now has an official ID# and the fellow I talked to took a lot of information. He also emailed a link to a questionnaire Andy has to fill out — obviously they want to know as much as possible to figure out what doctors he needs to see.

We were going to wait until after we see the local doctor Friday to do anything more, but I’m happy we’ve already started the process.

I also talked to our insurance company. They are a Medicare supplement and cover only procedures Medicare approves, so the fellow said to check with Medicare about what exactly will be covered and what won’t. I’ll try to remember to check when we know more and we get closer to our visit.
