A Dog’s Life

The Princess would be insulted by this cartoon. Her, do menial work? Get real.

They’ve been having a lot of rain lately, and their backyard was flooded.

So Kaitlin and Torben spent part of Labor Day draining the water. It was hot (in the high 80’s F, over 30 C) and humid, so as the humans worked and sweltered the pups snoozed in the air-conditioned house.

Let us know when you’re done, Mom and Dad.

Update: Kaitlin wrote to say the picture was of Zoe in a flooded fountain when they took a walk so the pups could do their business. The pups wouldn’t go out into the backyard because it had about four inches of water. They got off easy, some people had flooded basements, some roads were closed, etc.

  1. so true…of course, I’m pretty sure that Tempi and Zoe would have loved to be skipping around in the water!

ohmygosh. that surely isn’t a picture from their back yard???
I think Zoe might have some lab in her!
we had a light rain most of the day yesterday but the temp never dropped much. finally now about 2am it’s cooler out there. I have my bedroom windows up and the a/c off. and it’s cool in here in the dining area where the computer is. I hope their beautiful yard comes through okay.

I updated the post after Kaitlin wrote and explained. No, they had 4″ of water in their yard, which was bad enough. The picture was of a flooded fountain they went by when they took the pups for a walk. The pups wouldn’t go into the back yard to do their business.
