Meditation

Rummuser’s latest post talks about meditation, and it reminded me of this cartoon:

My meditation practice every day is to do a bit of drawing, painting, scribbling or whatever grabs my fancy, sometimes on paper, sometimes on one of my iPad apps. It doesn’t have to be for very long, the magic is in doing it regularly.

Probably because of this I was tickled by this article: The oldest drawing in the world was done with an ocher crayon.

It was drawn about 73,000 years ago. How cool is that? Some of us people do like to make marks.

  1. yes, many of us do like “mark making” for sure…

and my latest mark making is outside on the porch completely drying – it has many 3d type marks all over it – and overcoated with shiny black – will place photo of it on my blog page real soon…

My daily meditation consists of gazing aimlessly out of the window, staring into space, and wondering vaguely whether I should mow the lawn or not.

I’ve been a doodler for a long time. It’s relaxing, and takes me ‘out of my mind’. So I guess it qualifies as meditation!
