Simplifying Life

A lot of people like variety in their clothes, but Andy and I are with Earl — buy the same style so you don’t have to think about it. Yes, it’s unusual, but it works for us. Minimalism in the extreme?

How do you simplify your life?

  1. that is such a “funny post” – I have many bits of clothing (ok not 100s) but each is old and just a friend. When I’m at home, I throw on whatever is at hand…and a reasonably look when out…

but now that I want to wear something a bit posher whilst I’m away…it’s got to be a bit of joke that the organiser of the tour, suggested a “frock” – but in a way that whole “frock” has become something much more. One of my friends said “what about your graduation duds”…to which I replied “long gone, actually fell apart badly and that particular retail store has gone belly up”

the grad duds were rather cheap in regards to certain standards…and I would never have classed them as “frock-like” – they were semi matching for under the cap/gown affair…

I want to buy something “frock” like that feels like I’m wearing a million dollars and I don’t want something 2ndhand or from el-cheapo…

I’ve nearly a whole week to find that “look” “frock” – I’m thinking nice leggings with a flowing frozzy top or similar…

I’m with grampa. I tend to wear clothes for several days if I can and reduce the whole washing and ironing routine. I also have the exact same breakfast every day – a bowl of granola and some bread and marmalade. As grampa says, it saves my brainpower for the major decisions – like whether to have a second glass of wine.

Yoga pants and long-sleeved t-shirt are my uniform nowadays. I just have to decide v-neck or cowl-neck and what color if v-neck. (All the cowls are black.) And which topper to wear on cold days. Mornings are so easy now.

I’m with Nick and Grampa and you and Andy!
I have what I call my Indoor Clothes … the same thing every day.
and my “Outside Clothes” that I put on when the Marine and I go to breakfast lunch or dinner! it makes all of them last longer. and I hang them up on the drying rack in the fresh air if the windows are open… and they always look fresh. I spend next to nothing on clothes actually!
(but I’ll be interested in seeing your frock too Catherine! if I had to come up with something dressy I’d be hard put to do it now!)

Mom says it is so hard to find anything age appropriate any more. She is content with what she has – basic shirts, pants, and jeans:) AND she really loves Pickles – that cartoon makes her laugh out loud when she is reading the morning paper.
