Spring Is on Its Way!

It’s cold and dismal out right now, and more snow is predicted, but thanks to my friend Marshall Cook, there is spring in my heart.

I received an email from him recently:

Here’s our Longing for Spring, 2019 issue. It was three below this morning, we’re going to get another big snowfall tomorrow– BUT– the pitchers and catchers are reporting to their training camps, and I get to go home from the rehab center tomorrow. Spring is coming! ….

The knowledge he’s finally getting out of rehab after all these months brightens my days.

Yay, Marsh!

This will be one of the most welcome springs of recent history! It’s been a long and dark winter. But that’s the beauty of seasons—cold and dark followed by sunny and warm! Nice!

We do get some sunshine down here so are aware that the angle of the sun is changing, and also that the days are getting longer. Do you notice any of that where you are?

    • Diane Dahli says:

The days are definitely getting longer here, and that’s very welcome! I think the darkness of this winter bothered me more, this year, than the cold.

Love looking at all the snow photos, or even out a picture window at the drifts as we had where we lived some years in the early years of our marriage. Certainly as a young person playing and wading through it a half mile or more to get to main highway to catch school bus wasn’t always fun, but am happy now not needing to get out and about in the white stuff — viewing the covered mountains at a distance from the foothills.

I grew up in California so was excited the first time I saw snow. But I’m with you — it’s much prettier covering the mountains rather than the streets and sidewalks down here. 🙂

  3. happy to hear your Spring is going to be Sprung by the Seasonal Master…here we may be going to into Autumn but I’m not saying positively…- it’s a bit dismal today, rain breaks, and some chill, but not enough to put on another layer…

    • Jean says:

I would rather have chilly and dismal than hot and humid — it’s much better sleeping weather. But, of course, if we had a choice we wouldn’t pick either of those. 🙂

It’s still chilly here but the sun was actually shining yesterday. It was wonderful.
Leaving rehab must be a wonderful feeling.
