The snow accumulated here last night:
But it had melted by this afternoon.
Andy put chains on the Jeep driving up, both in case he needed them and also to beat down the snow so it would melt faster. You can see that it did melt where he had driven.
There was still enough snow to make the views attractive.
Also notice the low clouds in the valley.
April 1, 2019
I would believe there a good sign of spring.
Coffee is on
Yes, poor old winter is about to leave. Or as Andy and I say, “We’ll be whining about the heat in no time.” 🙂
That is a pretty spectacular view up there.
Yes, it was sad when all the trees burned down, but the views can be spectacular.
agree
it’s so beautiful! my kind of snow too! at least for the springtime!
and the moisture will bring all kinds of new growth throughout those mountains. better than severe drought any time I would think.
Yes, except as we know from California, wet winters are great for vegetation but bad for forest fires. Fingers crossed!
We can’t use chains here but I remember those days of putting them on our truck to go plow snow. They gave you confidence but I don’t miss doing it. Glad spring is trying so hard to get here.
I haven’t helped put on chains in years. I don’t miss it either!
Beautiful views indeed. Our view is nice green grass now, but we would still love to see some snow:)
Woos – Lightning, Misty and Timber
Not much chance of your getting much more snow, I’m afraid. Of course, there’s no predicting the weather!
We still have bits of snow where the sun doesn’t reach but grounds are brown otherwise. The lake still has ice but the ponds have thawed so ducks and geese are swimming. Bit by bit the good weather is coming.
As Andy and I say, “We’ll be whining about the heat in no time.” 😀 That’s exciting about the ducks and geese. 🙂
