Repairing the Water Line

And has been checking the water line to make sure water can get to our and Beate and Tim’s trees. Mostly it has been fixing leaky junctions, but no water was getting over to Beate and Tim’s so he followed the line until he heard the water gurgling under some fallen trees. It took a bit of work to uncover and fix the leak.

Yay, Andy!

  2. Tim and Beate says:

Wow, we didn’t expect that Andy would put in that much work to get us water. We are lucky to have him as a neighbor. We are looking forward to being out there again this summer.

Thanks to our recent visit, I can imagine the search for the pipe in vivid detail. Right now I’m looking at lilacs in bloom, plus a deep pink rhody, plus wood hyacinths. It’s the easy way to enjoy the realities of nature, but it could be that in some respects Andy is having a bit more fun. —Glad you like the Dycem.

    Andy is amazing.
Seems like he can fix anything!
    🙂

  5. land fixing seems to be Andy’s speciality – I’m sure if he couldn’t repair the water line, he would have called someone in…

Fortunately this is one of his specialties. We are planning to get help extending our defensible space to about 100 feet.

  6. Ann Thompson says:

Good job Andy on finding the problem and getting it fixed. I’m guessing the damage was caused by the falling trees?

You and Andy and Tim and Beate take care of each other.
    it warms my heart! xo

That leak would have been a challenge to find. I can imagine the greater the defensible space the better. Sounds like you’ve had some wildfire experience.

    • Jean says:

Unfortunately yes. We had a major fire in 2011, and here’s what happened when we used the old guidelines of 25 feet.
