Speaking of Contrasts

In response to yesterday’s post Rummuser pointed out they are having record heat in Pune. Not only that, it’s unusually humid.

Temperatures in Fahrenheit

Temperatures in Celcius

If you had to choose, which would you pick? Snow, or heat and humidity?

  1. I really can’t chose…is it possible to put them all in a large cauldron – mix and then shower the weather machine with the results…

    • having read tammy’s reply – maybe something colder is easier to cope with – you can put on layers, turn on the heating, remain cocooned up indoors, watch online movies, drink hot chocolate…

whereas anything heat/humid arena, there is only so many layers you can take off…well maybe you can indoors with the curtains drawn.

I have a lot more trouble with heat than cold, assuming our heater works!

  2. tammy j says:

honestly if I HAD to choose one I would choose the snow.
the high heat and humidity just does me in these days!

  3. I’d take the heat and humidity because I’m never warm enough, even when it gets up to around 95 and you don’t have to shovel ‘heat’ or slide off icy roads.

    • Jean says:

That’s not for me, but my husband can identify with it — he likes things at 76 but that may go higher as time goes on. šŸ˜€

  4. Ann Thompson says:

Normally I would have no problem answering since I hate the cold. But the older I get the more I hate the humidity.

  5. Linda says:

Can I choose heat without the humidity? Humidity makes a big difference in both heat and cold.

    • Jean says:

I agree. When were in France some days the cold cut right through us, and the temperature was above freezing. It was the humidity that did it.

  6. Cindi says:

Iā€™d like it to be 68-72 degrees sunny and slightly windy all the time.

But if cold or humidity are my choices…
    Summer, always summer.
I get suicidal in the winter.

  7. Joared says:

Humidity does me in at as little as 80 & 90 degrees, but then even the dry heat at over 100 degrees does now, too. I don’t cope with outdoor mobility in the cold and snow as well as I did even a decade ago. Just need to stay warm — and when weather’s hot I need to be cool. Dryness and wind off the desert can be problem for my sinuses. So far I’m choosing SoCal as offering me the best year ’round weather with no snow.

    • Jean says:

You handle heat a lot better than I do! Andy and I used to like the same temperatures, but now his ideal is 76 degrees and I do a lot better when it’s cooler. It’s all very interesting. The variety of us humans.
