Could politicians ever get elected if they were humble enough to avoid extravagant promises? Or if they suggested testing their ideas on a small scale first? That’s probably not a good marketing ploy, but

The road to hell is paved with good intentions

and even well-meaning people can cause havoc when they’re convinced they possess the truth.

    the ‘well meaning’ people of the world who can wreck your life if you let them.

    The funny thing is that politicians have proven time and time again that all the promises made during an election are just words, yet people still fall for the promises. I suppose it’s a matter of hope. Hope that this time they really mean what they say.

    All politicians make promisesโ€”they are defined by them. At this point, I don’t think a politician would be elected without coming up with a string of promises. How would we judge them? It would be more difficult than ever to choose.
