Stay Cool

A few years ago a blogging friend said he wasn’t worried about global warming, a lot more people die of cold than of heat. I was skeptical at the time but didn’t argue with him. Now I would simply send him a link to this graph of weather fatalities. According to the National Weather Service, heat is already more dangerous in the U.S. (Click on the picture for a better resolution.)

Stay cool everyone!

We all feel very badly for the many people whose jobs require them to be outside working in this horrible heat. It was awful here today. Mom is hoping they cancel the grandboy’s agility and conditioning camp tomorrow. Stay cool.

  2. We haven’t had much of summer and this weekend it could be in the 90’s
    Coffee is on

  3. I’m of course, on the other season – our winter has been strange…not particularly one or the other. Most morning when I wake up, I know what the season is! But this morning I wasn’t all that sure and yep turned out to be mixed bag 🙂
However, I’m still not roaming off the property but I’m back to “making a little more”

It’s so nice when we don’t have to go out, especially when we’re under the weather. And to be able to do as much or as little as we’re up to doing. Take care!

How interesting. It seems strange that wind is higher than several of them

    • Jean says:

I hadn’t noticed that but you’re right. I wonder what exactly happens? Here it would probably be falling trees clobbering someone — it occasionally happens even if there’s not a wind.

  5. Heat does kill. That graph is scary!

our highs in the 100’s. the heat indexes making it higher than that even.
I don’t know how highway crews and people doing hard work like that are even able to move in it! you literally can’t breathe.
I wonder why it always has to come with such high humidity?
the bad thing is now that it’s in parts of the country that haven’t had to deal with it so there’s not the central air conditioning in their homes. that would be just brutal!
