Survival Food

Some companies are responding to the desire for emergency food supplies and say their products have “up to 25 years of shelf life.” If you read the fine print it says that’s only if the food is kept in a cool, dark place, preferably with a consistent temperature between 55 and 70 degrees Fahrenheit. Some of us may have trouble with that!

Great packaging. I have to assume the food inside will stay good. If it turns out that in 20 years the world ends and this stuff tastes like crap, you can expect to find a scathing review on here.

    I think I would have to be pretty hungry to eat food that’s been sitting around for 20 years or more.

    Twenty five years of shelf life? I don’t think I’d risk eating something that’s been around for 25 years.

  5. and then I remember when the century date was to change…the whaling and gnashing of woes that would have all “gadgets” wouldn’t work! My computers’ date time zoomed back a few decades; but when I reset it to the year date – it was fine…and my washing machine; toaster and other chip orientated things worked just fine…
