Will They Never Learn?

Park officials at Yellowstone National Park keep warning people to give wild animals space, for the animals’ sake as well as for human safety, but apparently the temptation is just too great for some.

we have them roaming free in several parks here. people are allowed in but are reminded strongly that it is the BISONS’ home not ours. we humans are the intruders. they are incredibly HUGE! pictures don’t ever do them justice.
he tossed her like a little doll. I’m glad she wasn’t killed. he could have easily done it if he really wanted to. or she could have landed on her neck. so scary!
it’s almost like he’s warning them.
the sad thing is… she is there WITH ADULTS who should have known better.

Yes, I was thinking of that too! I hope the folks and the girl learned a lesson from the experience. I’m glad the girl wasn’t seriously hurt.

We don’t have any of those big creatures here, but we know for sure we would keep our distance.

  3. People can be really stupid sometimes.

I would not even want to get close to them if they were fenced in…I have heard from people that own them and have them that they can be very temperamental. I am not about to mess with an animal that heavy and big.

  5. mind blowing crazy action of the human/s…

I was watching some utube travellers the other week who were in I think Canada and as soon as they saw cars parked up they knew there were I think bears…they didn’t get out of their vehicle at all – but others did…most with cameras. The bears in this occasion just ambled across the highway…but it seemed so silly to even be out of your vehicle…

We were in Canada once and there was an elk by the side of the road attracting a crowd of people with cameras. We drove by and hoped that no one would get hurt.

Thankfully the little girls wasn’t seriously injured. No I don’t think people will ever learn to follow the rules.

  7. I live about 2 hours from Yellowstone, and have been there many times, as well as Glacier, about 4 hours away. This happens every year. Bison have killed many more people in the park than grizzlies.

Where exactly in Montana? Andy was raised in Missoula and we went every summer to visit his folks and spend some time at their cabin on Holland Lake. It brings back some wonderful memories.

I’ve been to Yellowstone a couple of times, to Glacier once.

Thanks for the info about bison. I’ve only seen them from the car when we went to the National Bison Range.
