Joe had hoped to have five guys working yesterday, but the two new ones phoned to say it was raining where they were — they didn’t want to waste his money so didn’t come. The weather was fine up on the land.
Their not showing shouldn’t hold things up, but there may be a delay when Joe needs some special insulating blocks for the top of the wall. The blocks won’t be shipped until Wednesday — we will have to see if that changes the schedule.
He’s still hoping to have his part finished by the middle of September, which might make it possible to get the greenhouse built this year. Fingers crossed but don’t hold your breath. It will be what it will be.
August 11, 2019
if it was ready by that special week in December, maybe you could have a celebration inside it with heating of course…
We’ll have to see. “There’s many a slip ‘twixt the cup and the lip.”
How long and wide is the greenhouse going to be?
About 13′ by 28′.
That sure is a lot of blocks. Those two that called in because of rain missed out on a days pay
I’m guessing they didn’t want to work on a Saturday. It doesn’t matter. It looks as if we have a real mess with the installer because our contractor won’t be finished by his original estimate of September 1.
I’ve always heard any building project or renovation takes at least twice as long as they project and costs at least three times what they estimate!
probably if they told the truth people would never attempt whatever it is they want done! 🙂
This is turning into a real mess, but it’s not a big surprise. I knew we were taking a chance when we started.
What a splendid view you have, though.
Yes, compliments of the 2011 fire that burned down all the trees. 😀
