This is an old cartoon, but it’s appropriate for us right now. Andy again was the only person up on the land yesterday. I’ve done all I can about the greenhouse, so I’m spending my time and attention on other projects.
Play your part well and let go of the results.
Or even better, Ashleigh Brilliant’s,
I feel so much better now that I’ve given up hope.
That last one always makes me laugh.

Since I’ve given up hope of ever again living and traveling in an RV, I have discovered I am happy. I even woke up this morning with the children’s song, “If you’re happy and you know it,” playing in my head.
That one goes through my head a lot! We all have to give up things as life progresses, but that doesn’t mean we can’t find other things we love as much.
Ah yes, those great expectations have a way of being a downer when they don’t play out the way we planned.
Best to have a sense of adventure rather than having our hearts set on a particular outcome. And also to have other projects that we have more control over.
Mom and Dad have had way too many experiences with workers who say they will come at a certain time and either arrive hours later or not at all. Fortunately we have had two situations in the last few days where expectations were met in a timely fashion – a tree befelled by a bad storm and a sick a/c unit. Sometimes things do happen as planned.
Woos – Lightning, Misty, and Timber
I’m glad these worked out fine for you. They were major nuisances.
Somewhere, maybe here, I read the Einstein quote ‘I have not failed. I’ve just found 10,000 ways that won’t work.’ That about describes me.
It was Thomas Edison. It was especially when he was inventing the light bulb I think.
