More Learning Experiences

Some learning experiences are more fun than others are. My computer (only about three years old) has been acting flaky at times lately. A couple of times it has said I had no connection to the internet even though I could tell from my modem that wasn’t true. Rebooting the computer fixed the problem.

Then last night suddenly a large number of screens labeled “desktop” popped up, and when I closed them my desktop was completely empty. Yuck! There are too many things going on right now to spend much time on it, but I do regular backups so should be able to untangle things in the future. I did poke around enough last night to see that it looks like the files and folders on my desktop haven’t disappeared, they seem to have been moved into my “Pictures” folder. Who knows how that happened?!!

Anyway, hopefully troubles don’t always come in threes. I have enough learning opportunities already without adding more to the list. 😀

Oh, I am so sorry you are having computer problems…I hope you get it straightened out without too many headaches. Sometimes it is hard for me to put things like this on the backburner…even though I have to.

I know what you mean about wanting to stay with it until it’s fixed. I won’t be able to do it this time, so it’s probably good practice for me. 🙂

  3. I put computer problems right up there with car trouble! I hope you get it sorted out easily!!

    • Jean says:

I’d rather have computer problems because Andy takes care of the cars and the idea of having to maintain them fills me with dread. If I thought I could trust the shop my attitude would change.

    I agree with Kim!
and I have thought for a long time that somebody lives in my computer that likes to mess with my mind. not to mention my patience!
my problems always seem to stem from their “updates. please don’t turn off your computer.”

    • Jean says:

Yes, computers do try our patience at times. As you say, they keep changing things and it’s not always for the better. 😀

  5. Computers, I have to admit I would be lose with out one. Even I become frusted at times.
    Coffee is on

  6. lately I have noted that my pictures have gotten copies, so there is the usual once, then a (1) and sometimes a (2) which means I have photos of the same thing…I even noticed it when I put in some memory sticks lately when I was looking for some other pictures…

and one time when I was downloading pictures from my phone…the whole thing downloaded the ones I already downloaded…

computer world is just not my thing! And yep, I’ve got to agree with Kim…

I hate when stuff like that happens. Rebooting is usually what I do first. Beyond that I get frustrated at trying to figure out what a problem is. Wade was always the one who fixed computer issues for me.
