Being Wealthy

Do you consider yourself wealthy? I do. To me the ultimate wealth/luxury is being able to spend my time in a manner that’s meaningful to me. I don’t take that for granted.

If I go by my bank account, no not wealthy but I suppose in general I am since I have everything I need and a few extras for fun.

Oh, we are rich…compared to most of the world, we have it made. A warm house when it is cold, a nice bed to sleep in, food to eat, and like you say…time and tools to work with…and freedom to do it in.

  3. I worry all the time about becoming a bag lady someday. But if the world holds together along with my pension and S.S. that isn’t likely to happen. As for having everything I need, I do but that makes me feel guilty because so many others had so little. I’m a basket case when we talk about ‘wealth’. LOL

Sorry about that! I used to worry about being a bag lady, but now Andy and I are falling about faster than our bank account. 😀

“To me the ultimate wealth/luxury is being able to spend my time in a manner that’s meaningful to me.” I do agree. Jenny and I have a fair amount of money, though nothing that amounts to rich. So we’re able to amuse ourselves as we wish without any penny-pinching. But like Misadventures I do worry that one day my money will run out and I turn into the male equivalent of a bag lady (hobo? street person? down-and-out?)

Not wealthy, though some in our our area would consider us so. We’re comfortable, without any financial worries on the near horizon. Owning our own house and property and not having any debt contributes to that.

Not wealthy in financial terms, not by a long shot. But we’re relatively comfortable in our little (rented) duplex and we do have a visiting cat.

  7. I always see my wealth in “time rich” rather than whether I can afford xyz – which often I can’t but I don’t think that matters too much as I have a roof over my head, I can afford the rental/utilities,food, other – without going completely broke…

I used to really look at “what is the cost of this?” but now, I might if I’m pushed but often I just “know” the pennies are there to back up the purchase…

and because of my background (childhood) I know where I can cut corners to deal with any oversight…
