When we drive up to the land and look at our clearing from the Cochiti Mesa road, the black greenhouse does stand out.

How far away is your nearest neighbor?
About a half mile from Beate and Tim, who come only for the summers, and about a mile from a new couple that is planning to live there all year round.
Do you plan to live up there?
No, Andy is 84 and I’m almost 80, and my eyes aren’t good enough to drive on rough dirt roads. We live down here in an apartment and Andy goes up almost every day. Kaitlin and Torben are thinking they might retire up there, and the greenhouse was their idea. Needless to say, we think it was a great one. 🙂
