Andy likes these pictures because they show why we raised the greenhouse off the ground.
The lowest temperature in the greenhouse last month was 40°F, after a couple of sunless days. Then it went back up to the 50’s. Not too bad for late November/early December.

It is doing great, isn’t it?
Yes, Andy’s having a good time with it. 🙂
you all made some wise decisions!!!
it’s so pretty. and it’s working well.
I’d say Well Done! 😀
So far, so good. 😀
I “ditto” tammy’s comment…
adding, usually I don’t get caught in the rain – they had forecast some heavy rain this arvo…so as we both got off the bus, it came down (lady that lives further up my road) and now I’ve got stuff drying! SO NO SUN here…
Yuck! But thank goodness for warm apartments.
I remember asking you why the greenhouse was up high enough to need steps. Good decision. Are you guys planning to live up there eventually?
No, we won’t live up there, but Kaitlin and Torben think they might after they retire. That’s still a long way off.
The greenhouse is doing a fine job. What is the lowest the temperature can go before it becomes a problem?
Right now we don’t want it to get down to 32, freezing. But the plants might object to that, we’ll have to see how they react. 🙂
Indeed, it was wise to raise it above the ground. That’s quite a pile of snow.
No snow in Northern Ireland as yet. I think there’s some on the higher areas of Scotland and Wales.
Yes, we took our snow into consideration here.
