I was going to send Andy my daily text to his cellphone when I saw these on the dining room table.
So he has no Garmin (1) for him to ask for help if he can’t get to the internet or (2) for me to know where he is. It’s a nice day so I’m not worried that something will go wrong. Still, it’s a warning sign.
Clearly too much is going on right now. He needed to buy some screws to solve a problem installing some shelves, so he was probably thinking about that as he left. I completely understand! That’s why we’re writing more and more things down nowadays.
December 7, 2019
Gotta get the string out and tie it around his finger.
Mostly it’s automatic, so this was a surprise.
I don’t know the answer, maybe as I do sometimes, put a note on the door that I exit out – either a “to do list” whilst out or reminder to take xyz with me…
occasionally I will set my phone alarm and in the “label field” place why the alarm is going off. I use the alarm often so I don’t miss the bus…I give myself some leeway to collect up things, then I’m not rushing out the door, leaving things behind or heaven forbid missing the bus!
It’s strange that he would have forgotten because it’s part of his morning ritual. We’ll have to see if it happens again.
The bad thing is we have been doing this kind of stuff for years! Always if Roger was supposed to take something to work and it was really important…I would write a big sign and go tape it to the steering wheel. Cause putting it on the door where he could see it, he might not have even noticed that early in the morn. LOL
My mom never, ever had a timer, yet she didn’t burn food. I cannot cook without one…well, bake anyway. I always think we have too much to remember.
If I wrote a note I would tape it to his backpack, which he packs with his lunch. I’m guessing it won’t happen very often.
Post-its
I put them on the front door that I leave out of.
Or I put them on the gear shift in the car.
Or in both places if itโs really important
I would put the note on his backpack, but it’s something he does everyday, so it’s strange.
I do the same thing. I hope you are enjoying the weekend and the busy and festive month of Dec.
Thank you. ๐
kind of that sinking feeling. not a good one.
with Andy up on the land so far out even in nice weather it could be bad.
I use post it notes too when something important is up and I need to remember! my memory is sadly as rusty as an old nail!
This is part of his morning ritual, so I’m guessing it won’t happen very often. Fingers crossed. He didn’t seem concerned at all, so I pointed out if something happened he might not be able to communicate and I wouldn’t know where he was so couldn’t help him.
Uh oh. Sounds like something I would do. I have to put my car keys on a table right by the front door otherwise I lose them. I was forever panicking because I couldn’t find where I put them. Now I make sure that they go on the table as soon as I come through the door.
I had problems like that for years. Now I have a special spot in a drawer for them. It saves a lot of wear and tear on the nerves.
I have several lists of things to do, things to remember, books to buy etc. I’d be lost without them. Where would we all be without lists?
My comment is not showing up on the screen but maybe it’s visible at your end.
It came through fine. I hate it when that happens.
I agree with you about lists, and sticky notes on our calendar.
