Cozy Here, Busy up There

It was foggy and moist yesterday morning, so I stayed cozy. I played some games on my iPad and also exercised while watching a Great Courses Plus history series. I did go to the Y to use some weight machines after the fog lifted in the afternoon. It had left some moisture, but no snow.

Andy, on the other hand, pulled a family out of a ditch on the way up to the land. They had been getting a Christmas tree and slid on some ice. He said there was about an inch of new snow at the bottom of del Norte Canyon and about six inches up on the land. He plowed.

It was overcast all day and the temperature in the greenhouse was about 59 when he left. There’s a chance of some sun today, so it will be fun to see.

Andy is such a good soul. I’m sure the family were glad to have him help them!
it could have been a really sad experience!
your weather is almost as unpredictable as ours is. the sun hasn’t shown at all today but no moisture. just cold wind! you know… general prairie type stuff! 🙂

  2. Andy gets a work out every day.

It was a blessing for that family that Andy was out and about!

  4. I think ice is often worse than snow…as your vehicle just slids. My experience is more from my younger days when I would slide on ice whilst walking in London…thank goodness Andy came along! I hope they thanked him.

It was supposed to be terribly stormy and wet up here over the w/end, particular as the South Island is in a lot of trouble with heavy rain – lakes lapping at the shop doors and cutting access off in smaller towns with washed out roads and bridges. But the rain didn’t make it here, a bit of wind…

    now back to sunny days.

And for those who have heard about White Island volcanic activity with injuries and deaths here in New Zealand. I do not live in that region and according to reports nothing has impacted on the mainland.

I’ve read the volcano won’t affect the mainland, thank goodness. I think it’s a good idea to avoid active volcanoes even if they haven’t erupted for a couple of years.

I’m with you about ice — I do my best to avoid walking on it. Snow is much safer.

That family was sure Andy came along.
