Does anyone recognize what these sprouts are?
They’re corn! Andy planted them a couple of weeks ago and they’ve actually come up. We don’t expect them to do very well, but it’s a fun thing to try.
The little stake in the top middle of the picture shows where he planted a tomato seed. So far no sign of growth.

What fun…I think we are all enjoying this almost as much as you two.
It’s fun to share it. 🙂
that’s great – maybe you will have corn on the cob long before any other person in your state has them…
if it had been me on the tomato plant, I would have bought a seedling…but I guess time will tell if the seed, gets it act together…
if all goes well for any plant, maybe this time next year you will have a forest of vegetables flourishing in there. Maybe your tomato seed is lonely (3rd time trying to type lonely)!
We don’t want to buy anything from a nursery, even if they had one this time of year, because of bugs. We learned that the hard way years ago. 🙁
I’m not getting my hopes up for the results. I’m just enjoying watching to see what happens.
What is that white stuff . . hailstones?
It’s an amendment to keep the soil aerated — perlite I think.
I agree with Rose!
he should keep a log like a captain of a ship! to chart the progress of the veggies. 🙂 xoxo
He’s too busy playing with his fans. He has some for the ducts in the wall to warm the back of it. More about that later.
You never know – you might have a great crop!!!
Woos – Lightning, Misty, and Timber
I just think it’s fun to watch.
I love this – A little bit of spring, in winter! 🙂
It’s always exciting to see things grow. 🙂
Just don’t try mint. You’ll never get rid of it and it will take over the greenhouse, but makes great jelly.
Thanks for the warning. 😀
How exciting to watch the progress especially being able to grow things this time of year.
They may not do very well in the long run, but it sure is fun to watch them sprout.
