If I don’t want a lurker, I have to avoid bacon…Puss Puss would snag it from my hand if given half a chance. Bubbie, being 12 yrs old last July, all of a sudden started liking fresh hamburger. If he is around when I open package, he is at my feet instantly begging.

  3. My mind went right to lurkers who read but don’t comment on blogs. LOL I have the lurker in the last frame.

LOL, that’s why I always feed Gibbs at the same time I sit down to eat. He always manages to finish before me though and then sit and watch to see if I will give him anything.

I am not a dog lover and I’m not thrilled with feeding dogs people food as I think that tends to lead to them developing people diseases. So I surprised both myself and my Mom when I fed her dog bacon from my bacon cheeseburger. Her dog never actively begged; she would just sit quietly and watch us eat. She was one of the best behaved dogs I ever met. She very daintily picked that bacon from my fingers without ever actually touching me.

As for Bubbie and hamburger, I have no idea why. He is has never begged for anything. Till this with hamburger. My first indoor cat loved it…many moons ago. He could be out laying in the garden and would be at the door almost instantly if I opened hamburger…I never did figure out how he knew. It was a good storm door. He also loved tomatoes and always had to have a taste of anything like pizza or spaghetti. If I set a half a tomato down, he would lick the entire insides out.

  7. well, I too got the wrong end of the stick, on “lurkers” – and was still confused with the cartoon….for me it’s the word “viewers” particularly on my f/b artist page, who never comment, but apparently they drop by and “view” 🙂

and then I have friends via other email methods, who say they visit with my blog…never comment of course, “just lurk”

I don’t think of people who regularly read a blog but don’t comment as lurkers, I just think of them as just readers.

As for the cartoon — I thought it was funny because I’ve known too many dogs who would watch people eat like that, hoping they would be given something. My granddogs aren’t allowed to do it, they have to go somewhere away from the table. But that doesn’t mean they don’t try sometimes, just in case.
