Happy Leap Day!

I received a lot of email ads for Leap Day. The subject of my favorite one was An EXTRA day calls for EXTRA chocolate! from See’s candy.

Underneath the animation it says,

Unlike some of the ads, See’s had no offers, but the animation and sentiment caught my attention. We don’t need any more candy right now, but I appreciate their cleverness.

Anyway, Happy Leap Day!

  1. Well, it’s the next day here…

    First day of Autumn!

Yes there are browning of foliage here, but not due to Autumn but due to the drought!

But anyway Happy Leap Day to everyone north of the equator 🙂

I haven’t seen a single leap year advertisement. That candy ad is fun.

Any day that calls for extra chocolate is a good day per Mom. And if that chocolate just happens to be See’s, all the better. Delicious chocolate for sure.

We tried a custom box of See’s after Russell Stover took away Andy’s favorite creams, but Andy thinks the chocolate overpowers the fillings. So I found another store Muth’s Candy that lets us order what we want.

We ordered all milk chocolate creams for him to test various flavors so we know what to order for his Christmas present. Mine will be dark chocolate from See’s. It’s fun to do the research ahead of time. 😀

I used to know a girl who was born on leap day. she only had a birthday every 4 years… I think that’s it? every 4 years? but funny… she still got older looking! it would be cool if they didn’t age except every 4 years. 😀
happy chocolaty leap year to you all!

that is a pretty cool ad, and no calories involved..

They do look tasty. I wonder if they really are old-time recipes as they suggest, or the old-time bit is just a marketing ploy?

It’s still great candy, not cheapened at all, so I wouldn’t be surprised if if were the same.

Now Russell Stover used to say on the box “Hand-crafted in small batches,” with that phrase trademarked. We didn’t believe that and wondered how they got by with it. The new boxes don’t say that, which I think is an improvement.

  7. Happy March 1st, Friend! It has been a long time since I had Sees chocolates. They used to be a favorite, but you can’t find them here in Virginia. I think I may need to order a box, just to take that trip down memory lane and just because! 🙂

I remember my mother buying them in a See’s store when I was young, so they bring back memories. Andy used to buy me great chocolates in town for my birthday and Christmas, but last year the store had switched suppliers, and the new ones weren’t worth the money or calories. Fortunately See’s still doesn’t disappoint.

You could have sent ME that box of candy! :^D>

Now that’s a sweet ad 🙂 I like Sees chocolates.

  10. Rose says:

    I can always use chocolate!

I meant to add that I don’t actually need it either…
