There are probably varieties of corn you can get that grow shorter than others, might be worth looking into for growing inside a greenhouse. They sure look healthy.
I believe according to Mr Google you eat the young leaves..but can be too stringy
and I noted that with your radishes as well – the leaves…
the corn…60-100 days to be ready…depends of course on type and growing conditions. I think they add a lot of colour to the greenhouse… a jungle of greens with some that “fruit” through to those who are “art”
Thank you. This is the kind of corn that is best cooked right after it’s picked. So if we get some I will come up and have the water boiling as Andy picks it. A nice addition to a picnic supper. 🙂
Hey Jean, I hope you are keeping well !!! Fingers crossed hope you will harvest the best corns this season. The leaves look green and healthy so I believe it is going to come soon. Keep trusting !!! Do post the picture after you get the corns, waiting eagerly to see. Enjoy ? Life to the fullest.
they look healthy! it’s getting exciting. 😀
Yes. 🙂

We did look and this Golden Bantam is what we found.

But Andy already knew all that….
I agree they add a lot of color to the greenhouse. It never occurred to me that the young leaves were edible. Thank you!
This has been fun for all of us to watch. You know what they say–knee high by the 4th of July. Maybe in your case but the 4th of March.
They’re already past knee high. The tallest ones are about up to Andy’s waist now. He will double-check tomorrow.
I hope they don’t grow up to the roof. They might push out some of those glass panels! Healthy looking plants.
They’ve been chosen to get no more than six feet tall. We’ll let you know if they lied to us. 😀
That corn looks fantastic. Whenever I see corn growing I always think of the saying “knee high by the 4th of July”
Yes, we think of that too. 🙂
that is beautiful corn.. good job.. it sounds like you are like I am, internet junkie… would be lost without it..
Yes, I’m definitely an internet junkie too. And we have a lot of company. 😀
Looking very good – hope they produce some tasty ears for you.
Woos, Lightning and Timber
