It was overcast

with snow flurries down here.

What was the first day of spring (or fall, for Catherine) like where you are?

our first day of spring brought the most beautiful rain! most of the morning.
then it stopped and got sunny and quite warm. 77 I think. and the sunset was absolutely GLORIOUS! must have been the storm or moisture or something.
we sometimes have pretty ones but this one was seriously spectacular.
we’re expecting a freeze though on Friday or Saturday night. down to 29.
then back up. a roller coaster … just like most other places this time of year.
p.s. I love your lightly snowing pictures!

Yes, rain! We were blessed with some yesterday — I like it even better than the snow flurries. The lows here will be slightly less than freezing the next couple of days,

  2. Fall was officially March 1 but hey it’s not quite as warm as it was, and out towards Green Bay over the top of some houses, I can see a tree top recolouring it’s leaves towards autumn tones. It may be near the old bus stop…

A couple of mornings, I’ve had to put on some extra layers, and not throwing off bedding as much – can’t seem to think about getting the heaters out right now though…”now where did I put them” nor truly looking for warmer clothing…although I did finally wash a woollen sweater.

More intermittent rain which we needed anyway…

In a way it’s nice to think the “seasonal stuff” isn’t in a turmoil whereas regular stuff is definitely off edge. I’ve noticed some nicely rounded birds, so suspect more worms available…

March 1 is the meteorological start of Fall for you, March 19 is the astronomical start this year. The Astronomical vs. Meteorological Seasons. When I was a kid we we told the dates were March 21, June 21, September 21, and December 21. That shows how little we knew. 😀

I’m glad you had some rain. We had some yesterday and loved it.

Here it rained in the morning and the afternoon was rather gray and gloomy but the temperature wasn’t too bad

all our days are the same here in Florida. the difference can be heard because there are more birds singing and as I type I hear wood pecker in the tree. I hope its the tree and not the house… we are desperate for rain. our beautiful bushes are dying from lack of water

  5. It’s windy and 34 degrees here and overcast. Looks more like fall than the first day of spring. I hear warm weather is coming soon though.

We had rain all day long yesterday…and has remained overcast today. That being said, at least it wasn’t snow! I was reading about the date, and a quick find was that this is the first time in 124 yrs!

  7. Linda Sand says:

It rained here, too. Which pretty much melted the last of the snow. But everything is very brown yet.

  8. The OP Pack says:

It should have been yesterday as we had beautiful sunshine and 72 degrees. Today it is still sunny but windy and the temps dropped to the low 30s:(
