This isn’t the post I was planning to write today, but I got distracted while doing a bit of organizing. I found this game I bought a couple of years ago to have fun improving my perceptual speed.
Spot it Jr.! is a card game consisting of 31 cards, each decorated with 6 animals of different sizes.
There are more than 30 different animals in all. One — and only one — animal match exists between any two cards.
It’s supposed to be for ages 4 and up and it’s supposed to be a fast-paced competition, but even if I knew someone else who was interested I wouldn’t be nearly ready for that.
For me it’s a fine solitaire game — it tickles me how long it sometimes takes to find the matching figures.
Anyway, the days go zipping by here.
Blessed are they who are easily distracted, for they are seldom bored.

Oh, I want this! I love things where you spot the difference, look for hidden pictures…etc. I have two games for the computer, but both combined are not as good as this one game we had years ago. Every time you did it there were different items to find.
Amazon has it, and I just ordered the fishing version so I won’t get bored. I get a lot of mental exercise on the computer and my iPads, but it’s refreshing to do real life ones too.
Years ago Kaitlin and I had a game called Husker Du? It was/is a matching memory game. I could buy a used one in good shape for $69.99, but I don’t want it that badly. 🙂
The grands have that game here at the house in our game cabinet. It is a fun and fast-paced game for sure.
Woos, Lightning and Timber
It’s simple but fun.
interesting to understand the “zipping by” model … here we are today in New Zealand at Level 2. Where a whole lot of business is apparently walking in the doors and getting started – although some parts are to be in a staggered mode. Which also means they are hoping we the client/customer hasn’t forgotten how to “shop/spend”
it looks another day at home here, because I’m not quite sure what is happening with my “top-up food” helper. So to take my mind of that, baked a sweet loaf, which cooling on the bench.
But actually I’m not rushing out there…I finally “got my head around the stay home scenario” and I’m happy to remain here, until I see the lie of the land.
And what I end up doing here, has me zipping along quite nicely…even when things pan out a little different, yesterday I got my days completely muddled up … I felt sure it was Friday, oops not even close!
I find it hard to remember what day it is too. We used to talk to Kaitlin Sunday evenings, but now she’s two hours away, so we’ve switched to Friday or Saturday evenings. Also I used to go to the Y and don’t anymore. That was another schedule that helped. I’m perfectly happy being at home, but it does make it hard to keep track of the days of the week.
I play online Solitaire. Check out worldofsolitaire.com
Thanks. I used to love Free Cell, but now it’s mostly Word Jumble, Sudoku, and occasionally Word Search. Played on my iPad.
That game looks like fun. I play some Solitaire, too, preferring the Spider variety. I keep thinking I’ll set up a jigsaw puzzle to go to periodically, but will have to buy one first — doing them on the Internet doesn’t appeal to me from what I’ve seen.
I like this little game because it isn’t on the internet. Sometimes it’s nice to touch the things we’re playing with.
Well this looks like a fun way to keep yourself entertained and exercise your brain at the same time.
It’s simple but fun. 🙂
your motto is my motto, i am truly easily distracted and i am never bored. not before or after this virus chaos. it is good for your brain to do this game and sounds like fun. bob and i were discussing how when this stayhome thing started the days were dragging, now the past two weeks are zipping by. this past week has been extremely fast. i think it is because we have a new normal routine
It was quite a change at first — I’m glad that you are thriving too. 🙂
Whatever works to keep your minds happy is a good thing. I’m good with games that require visual match-ups but word games like scrabble, forget it.
Yes, whatever works is good!
