And we have a tornado watch! What???
That sucks — I thought they had left that problem when they moved from the Midwest.
The Boston Globe says,
Meteorologists expect torrential rain, damaging winds, possible street flooding, and hail with a diameter as large as 1.5 inches to hit Massachusetts during the storms.
“The main threats with these storms will be damaging wind gusts and possibly an isolated tornado,” the weather service said.
There is a low to moderate chance that “a couple of tornadoes” will form in some areas of Western and Central Massachusetts during the storm, according to the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration.
“Persons in these areas should be on the lookout for threatening weather conditions and listen for later statements and possible warnings,” NOAA said.
OK, slight chance of a tornado, but be careful. Keeping our fingers crossed.

Tornado warnings are so scary!
Love your daughter’s photographs. I can almost smell those blossoms.
I’ve never experienced one, and I’m glad. I’m afraid of tornadoes even though we’re safe here.
The trees are so pretty. Mom and Dad lived in Western Mass. for 37 years, no tornadoes. But it was not that long ago that one did go through the Springfield area and did tremendous damage. Pretty unusual for that area.
Woos, Lightning and Timber
Yes, when I read the weather history I wasn’t too worried. Much safer than Illinois.
The crabapple blossoms are so pretty. We had two trees in the front yard of the house I grew up in. I loved them.
There was a tornado that went right through the neighborhood I live in back before I moved here. My next door neighbors would go to their basement every time we had any kind of warnings out.
I have fond memories of a crabapple tree too. 🙂
We live in northwest Indiana so tornado watches & warnings are common place in the spring & fall… but scary all the same. I so love those crabapple pictures. We just had an old crabapple tree taken down week before last. I hated to see her go. We saved the wood, chopped it up into small pieces, and stacked it at the edge of the woods. I figured at least she stayed here, on our land, rather than being hauled away someplace strange. It seemed fitting she would stay here, no matter what state she was in. Hope your Kaitlin didn’t experience too bad of weather. xoxo
I agree — it deserves to be respected. That’s why we decided not to find another place elsewhere when the fire devastated our place up in the mountains. We weren’t about to desert it. Now we have even more family memories.
the blossoms are awesome, makes you immediately think summer is on the way…good bye winter.
I don’t think tornados’ work on a seasonal being though…hopefully it missed their new home, or if they were on the edges no damage to those blossoms, blissfully working their magic upon a branch.
Just heavy rain, no tornado. 🙂
boy, oh, boy…that crabapple is beautiful. We live where there are a lot of tornado warnings/watches. I have only went to the basement one time…that was last year.
I’m afraid of tornadoes even though I’ve never been close to one. Reading about them and seeing videos is more than enough. Stay safe!
