Playing

This cartoon tickled me, probably because I’m a kid at heart and a certain amount of play is crucial to my mental health. Playing also helps me stay flexible and creative when I have to deal with the inevitable challenges in life.

Do you play much? What do you do?

I play more now than ever before in my life.
before I had to ‘measure up’ to all things expected of me.
and there seemed to be a lot of that.
now I am just me! 🙂

Yep, when you can’t do anything about the bad stuff, just find something fun to do. Mom likes to do lots of puzzles, word, number, and jigsaw. She also likes to play board games with the grands. And then there is always crocheting something. And of course, she can always play with us:)

They’re not only fun, they keep our minds occupied and distract us from worrying. Good for your mom. She’s had so much to deal with lately.

      I’m glad she has you!

I will define playing as doing something that I think is fun. SO…jigsaw puzzles, T.V., photography, twist type puzzles. Very cute cartoon!

Oh I love this. Playing is important and I’ve always been a firm believer of holding on to your inner child. I try to play a little but it isn’t just one thing that I”ll do.

  7. love throwing stuff at paper and seeing what happens…be it paint, dye, thread, inks! and then flicking through uTube clips – be it music, travel, art or whatever pops up…lately some Canadian dude eating at fast-food places!

going to be doing something with wet art materials this w/end…having the w/end off from “walking…about”

I’ve never gotten into crosswords, but I used to love Free Cell solitaire. Now it’s more Sudoku and Word Jumble on my iPad.

I guess my idea of play is doing sudoku and codeword puzzles. And having light-hearted conversations with Jenny. And writing about random subjects on my blog.

  11. Linda Sand says:

Mostly reading and playing computer games. A big part of play for me is sharing bits I find funny with Dave.
