That would be scary! I’ve never had that, but once I slept on the land all by myself and it was incredibly silent all night long. The next morning I was sitting on the deck and a hummingbird flew straight in front of my face for a minute. I wasn’t afraid of being attacked, but the noise seemed almost overwhelming because of the contrast.
How wonderful! The sleep this man lost as he kept the little bird alive, he is really a hero! I wonder if the bird will resume a normal life, or continue staying with them?
That truly IS an incredible story. The breeder I got Piper from told me he hoped to have canaries available in February. I am going to reach out to him this week. Wish me luck.
I got a beautiful hummingbird feeder from my daughter’s family for Christmas. I am hoping I will be able to draw some hummers to it this spring.
Delightful story on a local news program I must have missed. Imagine feeding every 15 mins. — whew!
She is still the newswoman I like on our CBS station carrying the newscast herself now, but he had to retire some years ago — a news team I enjoyed that hasn’t been the same since, though they tried other combinations with her.
I’ve seen this a few weeks ago and was astounded of the feeding ritual.
Some baby animals and birds need a lot of care.
Well isn’t that something.
🙂
i Like that guy! that’s just a wonderful incredible story in every way!
thanks Monk for sharing it with us!!! XOXOXO
It’s heartwarming. 🙂
Cute story. I’ve had hummingbirds try to land on my head and I’ve gotta tell you it freaked me out, thinking they wanted to get at my eyes or ears.

It would be nice to know. At least it’s the bird’s decision.

Thanks for the video.
Yes, good luck on getting another canary soon. They add so much joy.

amazing story, had no idea a hummer could live inside.. good dog, good guy
I just looked up what they need to eat…about half their weight in sugar water or the equivalent but also protein from insects: https://www.thespruce.com/what-do-hummingbirds-eat-386568
I wonder how the bird gets that. 😕
My heart is full! ?

WordPress doesn’t give us many options for symbols. Blogger is much better that way. Sigh… 😕
An amazing story. Especially the dog co-existing with the hummingbird without trying to kill it.
That was the most amazing part. The dog even discovered it.
Another wonderful story! Thank you. I have got to send this to Lorelei.
I’m glad you liked it too. 🙂

Yes, some babies can require a LOT of care. That’s neat that your own station carried the story.
